ISMA HEADS WEST FOR DOUBLEHEADER AT TOLEDO AND BERLIN

By Carol D Haynes, ISMA PR

Oswego, NY – After a couple weeks off, the ISMA supers gear up for a two-day, two racetrack
shows at Toledo Speedway in Ohio and Berlin Raceway in Michigan. These are the second and
third events on the young 2009-race season for the traveling organization. Last year’s Toledo
event met with heavy downpours and an eventual cancellation. The June Berlin show is a new
entity, which will be in addition to their September two-day event.

The Toledo ISMA show has always been a popular one with fans and competitors alike as it
brings in one of the top short track open-wheel shows in the Midwest. Friday, June 12 is the All
American Coach/Qualite Sports Lighting "Fastest Short Track Show in the World", featuring the
ISMA Super Modifieds and Auto Value Super Sprints (AVSS). Past events have brought out a
spirited speed fest between the two groups. The two groups will again be looking for bragging
rights of which car is the fastest!  With the fastest lap times hovering in the low 13-second bracket
and below, the speeds are incredible and have made time trials an event in itself.  Cameron
Dodson owns the ultimate track record at 12:902 in an AVSS machine.  ISMA's Chris Perley holds
their lap record at Toledo’s half mile at 13:116.

The June 12 schedule will see the pits opening at 1 p.m., practice begins at 3, with the front gates
opening at that time.  The much-anticipated time trial session begins at 5, with the race card
starting at 7:30 p.m.  All American Coach and Qualite Sports Lighting have teamed up to sponsor
the event, which draws fans on their way to Michigan International Speedway for the NASCAR
weekend.  Sprint Cup champ Tony Stewart has been a frequent spectator at Toledo for the
Fastest Short Track Show in the World.

Toledo Speedway is located at 5639 Benore Road, Toledo, OH 43612

After Toledo’s Friday night event, it’s cross Michigan for the Berlin 50 there on Saturday. Berlin
Raceway, a hotbed of supermodified racing in a bygone era, has drawn large crowds of
spectators each year with some reliving the features of the past. One of those drivers is John
Benson Sr. and once again this year his son, Johnny Benson Jr., will be competing at the
historic  7/16th asphalt oval. The USAC/WOMS Midgets and Engine Pro Super Stocks join the
ISMA Supermodifieds for an exciting night of racing. Tickets are available online at www.
berlinraceway.com. Berlin is located at 2060 Berlin Fair Drive, Marne, MI 49435; phone 616-662-
2051.

Chris Perley was the last ISMA winner at Berlin in the traditional September appearance. This
season finds ISMA at Berlin both in June and for two days in September.
